Delicious bakeries?

We are not serving cake however I am trying to identify an awesome bakery in the Bowie/Annapolis/DC area that serves great individual desserts (such as chocolate tortes, etc).Any suggestions?

    Try Alexandria Pastry shop.  They did our cake, but have a beautiful dessert case at all times and are pretty reasonable.

    My office went to Gerard's for lunch once. It's really a bakery in the Suitland area that also does some sandwiches. It's a teeny-tiny little shopfront that had TONS of yummy-looking desserts displayed. I tried a small cake square, and it was SO good! You could check them out.
