HEllo !! SO I was in your SAME SITUATION!! My FI and I originally set our date for APRIL 2010 but my brother, who is my best man, is getting deployed with the USMC to Afghanistan in Feb. so when we got that news...we had no choice but to up our wedding date :-) we didnt obviously wanna wait 2 yrs to get hitched... so the only time my brother could fly home from CA was over the holidays... i was annoyed b/c i had almost dreamed about a spring vineyard wedding; I didnt like the idea of a chirstmas wedding w/ christmas trees etc. so my mom came up w/ the idea to do it on NYE!! We talked to the hotel and beleive it or not, the hotel was cheaper, rooms were cheaper and vendors were much nicer about returning things b/c the following day is a holiday; they didnt want to come back to pick things up and they arent charging us for an extra day! =] its great. So yep- were getting married in 69 days... NYE 09!! =] were doing our ceremony at 7pm and then it goes until midnight- (were having the toast etc.) then we come back and its an "After party" from 12-2!! so much fun !

YAY! I'm not the only one! It's not going to be cheaper for us  but we're really excited! We're going to have our reception go 8-12:30 (ceremony around 7) and we have our venue till 1. My dad suggested doing and after party too which I really like the idea of! I think we're going t try to set it up with the hotel that works with our venue cause they're giving us a great room rate and maybe we can use the hotel bar? What kind of festive things are you doing? We were thinking noise makers? We changed the colors to black and fuschia instead of green and fuschia...please share your tips! I had been planning a spring wedding!

Congrats on the new date!  I think you were a May bride like myself.  I am doing Black/White/Fushia Pink for my colors.  Here are somethings that I am doing in those colors: -my bouquet is white with the stems wrapped in a white satin ribbon and groom boutn is white-BM bouquests are fushia with stems wrapped in a black satin ribbon and GM boutn are fushia-table arrangmts are mix of tall (white orchids) and short (trio of fushia peonies, dahlias, orchids)-invitations are pocket style in black, invitation and inserts are white and backing on the invite is fushia-chairs are silver (they only had gold/silver chairs) with black cushions-black table cloths-silver chargers and white platesGood luck with your new planning and enjoy the extra time!

hey girl!! Yeah it just depends on if a NYE wedding can be cheaper or not. We arent getting married in a church; we are splitting the ballroom at our venue in half w/ an ivory velvet like draping and then when cocktail hr begins, we will remove it and have the entire ballroom. So since were using the entire space for an all night event/party I think they lowered the rates, plus its winter time and in old town alex there arent many tourists so i dunno.. :) but anyways, yeah i luckily could stay in my same color palette. my colors are ivory, gold and blush pink. When we orig. had the april date, i was going to have more pink and ivory, but now taht its NYE i am focusing on gold and ivory w/ details of pink :) My linens are a mix of the three- for the tables they are a rouched (sorta..its hard to explain) gold- the sweetheart table is a blush pink w/ beading (the cake table is also this design) ..and the tables outside the ceremony (for the wish jar and gifts etc.) are a blush pink overlay on ivory. Our cocktail tables are also the same linens we are using for the guests tables. The chairs are gold chivari chairs w/ light pink cushions and the napkins of course match the chair covers :) When we had our wedding scheduled for april, the centerpieces were going to be pink roses with accent flowers etc. but for NYE were doing all tall centerpieces w/ ivory orchids and tall/long flowers (Look in my bio haha its hard to explain :)) w/ accents of gold curly willow- i think shes goign to throw some pink roses in there as well. My bouquet will be ivory- my grooms bout will be an ivory rose as well- the groomsman also will have ivory. I have no BM's (just my brother is my BM) and the MOB and MOG will have baby roses in blush pink w/ ivory...lets see what else ? :) the invites were ivory w/ gold accents and the programs will be blush pink. my shoes are pink :) hehe! mostly, i wanted to have the ceremony w/ more ivory and gold ...and then make it pop at the ceremony w/ pink. your colors sound gorgeous :) cant wait to see your bio!

LMAO I don't know how to make a bio! I'm 50 at heart lol I love your ideas and yes, psmith I was a May girl!!! Thanks girls for the guidance! I'm not reall doing much with centerpieces cause the way our venue is set up people won't really be chilling at the tables...do you think they're necessary to do something noticable? I feel like everything has to be bigger cause it's NYE!

P.S. Pink shoes are awesome! Mine are blue knock off Manolo's!

o awesome! whered you get the knock off manolo's??? sound so cute!! no i mean if your guests wont be spending much time at the tables b/c of the type of venue it is; then no, no need to spend money on centerpieces. waste of money. spend that money on NYE stuff- and on stuff that your guests will notice like Out of town bags or favors etc. best of luck!thakns for the compliments :)
