Crap, I finally feel behind...

We were hoping to send out our Save the Dates in October... it's now November, and we likely won't get our e-pics back for another 4-6 weeks (what the photog said). FWIW, there were lots of raves for Allison Britton on DC Knottie Review... but we were underwhelmed. Obviously we haven't seen the pics yet, but our experience thus far hasn't been fantastic.

we had our e-pics this past wknd and I felt the same way. Just wasn't what I expected. Felt more like a friend taking photos of us while we kiss and look all smiles.

Yeah, I think we were looking for something that I didn't express - although I thought I had?I feel like we looked the same in every photo, just with a different background each time. We'll see - hoping the photos come out better than I'm anticipating.I would love to have them back before Christmas though!!!

I loved the EXPERIENCE of our engagement photos but not so much the photos themselves.  Maybe bc I am super-critical of myself in pictures....

I noticed in your other thread that you just did your engagement session on Sunday.  So many people read these posts and it seems a little early and pretty unfair to say you aren't happy when you haven't even seen the results yet.

As one of Allison's former brides, I find it really upsetting to hear negative things about her.  She did our engagement, wedding, and boudoir pictures and we couldn't have been happier.  She always delivered our pictures much earlier than what she originally estimated and they were so much better than we ever could have expected.  Allison has so many raves because she is awesome at what she does.  I would say to wait to see your pictures before you make your judgment.

The one thing that I really loved about our epic experience was that it felt like a friend taking pictures of us - I don't know why that would be a bummer!  To me that indicates a level of comfort, which is a good thing.

I think part of the issue is that we *really* look forward to getting these done (some of us wait what seems like forever) and so there's really high expectations about the experience.  Personally, I stressed myself out buying multiple different outfits bec I wanted them to be perfect.  I was neurotic about the weather since it had been raining all week.  In the end, we had a fun day, took a ton of great pictures, and now we're completely comfortable with our photographer, who I know will not disappoint with our wedding pictures.

I think the whole point of this board is to be honest - I was honest (and not disrespectful or rude and DID note that I hadn't seen the pictures yet) and gave my experience. I do like the pictures a lot, but there were some things left to be desired.

I'm certain that lots of people have less than stellar experiences with GREAT vendors, however, I think it's really unfair to jump on me for posting my honest experience (for which I was asked.)

Perhaps I did have high expectations for the afternoon, but I think for the price we pay for these things, we should expect a great outcome.

If I don't have a rainbows and puppies experience, I'm not going to post a rainbows and puppies review.
