What's your favorite DC date-night restaurant?

Next Wednesday FI and I are celebrating our 7-year anniversary... by having our last date as an unmarried couple!!  It's a weeknight so reservations will be easy, I'm just looking for something new.

Any suggestions?

What kind of food do you guys like?

My brother and his girlfriend went to 1789 in Georgetown and said it was amazing (I've never been)

Other's I like that I've been to are Sequoia, the Old Anglers Inn, Sea Catch, Mie N Yu, Zaytina, and Oya...

Citronelle is also supposed to be amazing but very expensive! I've also heard Restaurant Eve in Alexandria is nice and the Inn at Little Washington is supposed to be a really special place too.

    HTH!

1789 in Georgetown is amazing!  Very charming and romantic - great food.  DH and I went there two years ago for a restaurant week and it was one of the best meals I've ever had.

I would say to go somewhere intimate.  Ardeo on Conn Ave/Cleveland Park is quite good.  I also like I Ricci - although it is pricey.

If you live close to Bethesda one of the most romantic meals we had was at Persimmon, right off Wisconsin Ave when you first hit Bethesda if coming from Friendship.  Really intimate and great food.  We celebrated our first Valentines day there.

I'll check those out.  I'm shying away from Georgetown because I'd have to take a cab or walk 2 miles...  We're both pretty adventurous food-wise, so really anything would be nice.

Two words...National Harbor!!!! My FI and I love visiting there. In fact, we got engaged there, so it'll always have a special place in my heart. There are lots of nice restaurants, it's by the water (you can even take a water taxi to Old Town), and it's never really crowded. Awesome spot!!!

The Sam and Harry's atmosphere is really nice for an intimate dinner.

FH and I I recently went to Logan's Tavern and loooved it!  It's not really fancy, but has good food, GREAT drinks,  and is nicer than a typical chain restaurant.

Capitol Hill: Jordan's 8 on 8th Street, SE near the Marine Corps Barracks ... steaks to sushi!

Penn Quarter: Tosca on F Street b/w 11th & 12th, NW ... yummy Italian and nice atmosphere in the evening, when all of the lobbyists have gone home.

Downtown: Daily Grille @ the corner of 18th & M ... not very romantic, but we like it.

Perhaps try www.opentable.com and you can get some good ideas there.  Best of luck and have a wonderful celebration!!  Congratulations!

Cork (although they don't take reservations, so the wait can be a pain), Zaytinya, Cashion's, Bourbon Steak... too many to name!
