Tuxes and any alternatives

I'd appreciate help with ideas for tuxes that don't cost an arm and a leg and that don't look like you're a waiter.  

Also, if anyone has ideas for alternatives to a tux, that's still quite formal. I'd love to hear ... .

Try getting suits or some of the new tuxedo styles (you can rent them for an affordable option).  If you rent more than 4, you usually will get some sort of discount.  Recommend Bridal Images bridal salon in Rockville, MD--they have a tuxedo section and a representative that specializes in menswear, I am sure he can help you out.   Good luck.
