Recommendations for Cake in DC area- Reasonable Price

Hey-

Seeking recommendations for a reasonably priced cake for 150 invited guest for our wedding in Gainesville, VA in April 2010- we're interested in a fondant layer cake (maybe pound cake with strawberry filing) for cutting and then will have sheet cakes to serve.

We've already had consults and received estimates up to $800+ ... our budget is closer to the $400-500 price range-

Word of mouth is the best way to find good vendors so any thoughts on (tasty, trusted, economical and dependable) vendors are SOOOOOO VERY appreciated - thanks!

Artistic Cake Creations.  She books up super quick (like I contacted her a year in advance and she was booked).  She's super cheap and a ton of DC knotties swear by her.  She's out in WV but does deliver to this area. www.artisticcakecreations.com/

I'm using Kirsten's cakery.  She's in Maryland (up by Baltimore), but she delivers.  I bought a cake for 103 people and my total with delivery is $350.  It's a three tiered cake with fondant seashells since I'm a beach theme.  She can do a lot of things.  She's opening a bakery soon.  Can't beat that!!!
