Petite Brides, where did you find your Dress!?

I'm just under a size 2 wedding dress and had the same problem.  I'll be honest, I didn't find a place  (other than David's Bridal) that had dresses in stock closer to my size.  I just crossed my fingers and trusted my consultant at Betty's Bridal in Clifton Heights.  I was lucky, they did a great job.  To be honest, they told me once the dress came in and i loved it, that they were a little nervous about it b/c it's rare to have to order a dress so much smaller than what they had the bride try on.

    Hey,

I am 5,2 and about 120 pounds. I found my dress in Havetown at a place called Lizelle's. Check them out.

I am 4'10' and about 95 lbs. I had the same problem. The only size they had for me to try on in my dress was a size 14!! So I put it on and they just clipped it up the back to make it fit as best as possible. I absolutely fell in love with it. Then I just ordered it in the smallest size they had. I went to about 3 different shops and none of them had a size that was even close to fitting.

It's tough being small! Good luck with your search. I think your best bet would be to try on the bigger size and if you really love it just order it.

I usually wear a size 0 (wedding dress is a size 2). I bought my dress in New York, so I don't know if that will help you. I will say though to make sure you work with an experienced consultant to help you decide what would look best on your body. It is annoying to try on dresses so big. There were a few styles (dresses with keyhole backs specifically) that I might have really liked, but it was so hard to tell when they were pinned so much. A good consultant though will pin them in a way that it is easy to tell what it would look like in the right size. They should also be familiar enough with each gown that they can tell how it will look different in a small size (e.g. my dress will be more fitted and less full on me when I have it in my size). Good luck!

I'm a size 2 (4 in wedding dresses) and I went to NYC too. The dresses that I tried on were huge, they just clipped the back up. Having a girl know how the dress is supposed to fit is key, they can clip it in the right ways to show you how it will look in your size. They then clipped the front so I'd see what the back looked like too. I'd just look for recomendations for good shops to check out, and the consultants will work their magic!
