Finger Waves in DC/MD?

We're having a vintage wedding in the Hyattsville/New Carrollton-area, and I've been looking for a stylist that can put my hair in finger waves -- as in 1930s Harlem Renaissance, not 1990s Salt-N-Pepa! :-)

I have unrelaxed, curly biracial hair if that helps. Thanks!

    Find a salon that specializes in doing older women's hair. If you get your hair roller set then it can be shaped into dry finger waves (the same way they do it with gel but dry). Since you have naturally curly hair you'll have to use a lot of hair spray to hold the waves/curls but that should work for you. I suggest a salon that caters to older black women because the stylist may be older and know how to do it. My grandmother used to have a salon and she did it for her older customers all the time.
