Reception Seating...Who sits where?

Ok Ladies.....So I am so confused by this, but I always mix up my right from left so I am not surprised!

If I am looking straight onto our sweetheart table, which side is the groom on which side is the bride on?  Then the respective family's/guests are on the same side correct?

Thanks!

I dont know if there is a "right or wrong" way - I just invisioned the bride on the left, the groom on the right (as they are at the altar) and the guests accordingly, brides on the left, grooms on the right.

I don't think there is a "right" way - we are sitting in the middle of the room with our family and guests all around us.  One thing I did hear was that you should sit the young people closest to the dance floor, since they're the most likely to be dancing.

The only right way is the way YOU want it. Personally, we sat the family closer to us than the friends. Also, we had a live band so we just made sure the older crowd wasn't next to them or the speakers and the "younger" crowd was closest to the music and the bar :)

There is no right or wrong way to do it. Seat people where you want. That's what I TRIED to do, but the event planner at the venue totally screwed up the seating chart on the day of. I was EXTREMELY steamed about it!! Just be sure you double check EVERYTHING with the event planner prior to the wedding.
