Outdoor Ceremony Site...

Hi guys, I'm looking to get married in early October and am desperately trying to find a great outdoor spot for a ceremony.  We are expecting 200+ guests, which narrows down our options quite a bit, in terms of wineries, etc...but we are determined to make it work... I feel like I have looked into every possible spot.  Any suggestions??

Thanks!

Have you looked into B&Bs in Loudon and Fauquier (Sp?) counties?  A lot of them are on huge tracts of land.  So there could be space to set up chairs for ceremony and tent for reception.  Sorry I can't be more helpful with specific B&Bs.  :(

We are having our wedding at the Antrim 1844 in Taneytown, MD.  It's quite a ways up there (almost PA) but it is absolutely gorgeous and they can definitely hold your number.  We also looked at and loved Ceresville Mansion, Linganore Winery, and Stone Manor Country Club...HTH

Thanks, ladies! I'm going to follow up!  I feel like I've tried every source.  We thought we had a great venue for the ceremony at the Dulles Hyatt and a great reception venue in Manassas (Portuguese Community Center) because we are on a budget... but they double booked for the date we want. 10.02.10.

Now if we want to keep the date, we have to start from scratch.  Thoughts? Advice? Am I holding on too tightly to just a date?

We're having ours at the Inn at Kelly's Ford in Remington, VA.  The Blackthorne Inn in Aldie, VA is beautiful, too - that's where we got engaged.

I had a similar issue with trying to find an affordable outdoor location that was not too far from the city that could still fit 200 people. We settled on the International Country Club in Fairfax. They didn't have the date that we wanted so we moved back one week.  If the date is very very important to you and has a special meaning then you should keep it and will eventually find a place.  Otherwise, if you find a great place change your date.  Unless you are more than a year away from your wedding it is truly difficult to find both the date and venue that you want the most.

There are a lot of hotels, country clubs, and private locations in the area.  I'm sure you'll find something great.
