My FI and I are getting married in the hotel where our reception is. We come from different religious backgrounds so we are aiming for "a civil ceremony with sprinkles of spirituality." We are getting married in VA. Very few of our guests are VA residents and none of them we feel comfortable asking to do the free ordination and perform it for us. Officiants I've contacted charge $500-600!!!!! Way out of our budget and ridiculous to me since it is going to be a 20 minute service. Anyone know someone who maybe does it on the side or is just getting started and could do it for $200 or less?
