Wedding reception food tastings, what if you don't like the food?

The venue I am considering requires that I sign a contract before having my tasting which from what I have read is pretty typical. My parents would like me to make sure that the contract has language indicating that if we don't like the food we can get out of the contract. Has anyone ever had any experience with this type of issue? And how it was handled?

I think it's awful they won't give you a tasting before you sign. I have heard that though from a friend of mine who used a hotel for her reception (most caterers have been offering us tastings left and right). I would definitely talk to your venue and tell them you would like to try the food first- maybe they will make an exception? If not, look for other brides who have used them and see how the food turned out.

My experiences with wedding food makes me so nervous for my own- I feel your pain! Good luck!
