Extremely Artistic Photographer??

Hi Ladies - I have been looking at different photographers and I thought I'd see if you had any recommendations.  I am looking for someone who is very artistic with their work...I am in LOVE with the work of Cliff Mautner...www.cmphotography.com but seeing that he is out of state, and listed as one of the top 10 wedding photographers in the world I'm pretty sure he's out of my price range.  Anyone have a local recommendation?  Thanks in advance!!

    Have you thought to look through some of the top knots in the DC/Md/Va region?
    I'm sure that there are many there. One photographer I met was saying that a lot of the really BIG photographer types that are out there have a lot more time on the wedding day to photograph the couple then most of us would expect.

    I spoke with him today...his normal package is 8 hours of coverage, fully edited proofs, a top of the line leather bound album, an 11x14 print, an online gallery and and online slideshow of your favorite images, for 8k even.  He doesnt charge extra for travel since he is roughly 2.5 hours away and said he has a friend in the area he could stay with.  I asked if he could take the album off to reduce the cost he said he could do just the 8 hours with proofs for 7k.  He would also accept 3 series of payments if it would be easier, an initial deposit, half of the remaining balance on the wedding day, and the other half 6 months later when we recieve the proofs. 

    Ohhhh how I wish I had an unlimited budget...ahhh.  I am trying to figure out what I could sell to fund this, I have officially lost my mind!

    Here's a great option: Rebekah J. Murray photography.  She's young, but incredibly talented.  When I looked at her online portfolio, I was awestruck by how beautiful her photos were.  Her website is http://www.rebekahjmurray.com. Her website lists $2k as the starting price/a la carte.

    Wow. Seven thousand dollars is pretty steep for photography. I thought the 2K-3K range I budgeted is high.

    Agreed - it kind of crushed my dreams but it looks like Rebekahs work is pretty comparable - cant wait to hear back from her on pricing and packages etc.  Thanks again ladies!

    From my experience, the photographers who advertise on The Knot do not do artistic photography.

    Try erin Antognoli at Halo Photographic. http://halophoto.com/. She is an award-winning photographer and she specializes in artistic, offbeat photography.

    We used Linda Wang Photography and are absolutely thrilled with the photos we got. I would describe her style as sweet with an artistic edge. She is also an amazingly good deal. We paid $1,800 for her to cover the entire wedding. I think she could easily charge much more. Check her stuff out at www.lindawangphotography.com
