Fort Belvoir Officers Club

Has anyone used, or planning to use, Fort Belvoir Officer's club for their wedding reception? And what are your thoughts on it?

We're having our reception at the Fort Belvoir Officers' Club in May, and it's a beautiful venue.   Their prices are a lot less than what you'd find at other venues in the area, and alchol and cake are usually included.  My contact person there always responds quickly, and from what everyone's said, they're really easy to work with.  The only downside is that you have to have a "sponsor" who is a member of the O. Club, otherwise there is a significant hike in prices.  Good luck!

It's a beautiful venue and their brunch and dinner are always delicious so I am sure the food will be good. Just make sure your guest will be comfortable getting on base and navigating to the location. We had my niece's Quince at the NCO Club at Belvoir and my sister lost about $2000 from guest who decided to turn around and go home either because it was difficult to get on base or find the actual location. My dad kept asking me about using the Officer's Club but I refused to take that chance. Good luck!

It is difficult to find, and it can be hard to get on base if you don't go to the right gate.  We are avoiding the problem entirely by using shuttle buses for all guests who want to use them.  It was something we realized we'd have to do if we wanted to use the O. Club, but it also eliminates the possibility that some of our guests would be driving drunk.  Hopefully it will work out!
