montgomery county md - marriage license

Anyone have experience with applying for a marriage license in montgomery county md? I know all of the requirement except whether or not both me and the groom need to be there. It's unclear to me based on what I've read. It looks like only one of us needs to go and present ID and apply for the license, but I just want to make sure before I get all the way down there. Thanks!

Yeah, from what i read it's just one of you, but that you need to ID stuff for the other person as well, and then you swear that all of the info for them is correct.

I went a month or so ago. The lady is the nicest but it only took about 5 minutes. My FI lives out of the state so I had a copy of his drivers license. She couldnt really read it so she just asked me for his full name, birthday, SSN. 
You sign a couple of things and then hand over a check. Its really easy and nice since only one person needs to be present
