Need recommendations for wedding dress tailor/alterations in DC/MD/NOVA area!

Hello!
I am getting in married in November and am wearing my mother's dress.  The dress needs to be hemmed and taken in along the side seams.  I have read so many online reviews of various tailors in the DC/MD/NOVA area, but thay have all been mixed.  One person will have a great experience and the next will say theirs was horrible.  I live in the DC area but am not originally from here, so if anyone out there could give me any recommendations I would greatly appreciate it!  I am happy to go anywhere in the DC/MD/NOVA area.  Thank you so much!

Hi there! I am having my wedding dress altered at Fashion Dream on Wilson Blvd. in Arlington (between Clarendon and Courthouse) and would recommend them. They don't have a website, but you can look it up on Yelp.com. The recommendations on Yelp were really good, so that's why I chose it. I had my first fitting and the woman is super nice and I felt really confident in her abilities (unlike a previous experience) She is charging me $300 to tighten the bust line, put in a french bustle and hem. The bridal salon quoted me $450, so I consider this a deal! Many people on Yelp have said it's pricey, but honestly I would rather pay a little more for good quality. Plus there were about 50 wedding dresses hanging there when I went; that has to be a good sign!

    Hello

I would recommend Kimly Dressmaking and Alterations, she is located in NOVA
her tele: 703-680-7442.  she does an awesome job, experienced and can do weekend hours & fittings.  Pricing is reasonable and does quick turn around jobs.
She has a business for many years, and doesn't work out of her home (so she is insured and bonded)

Hope this information helps you out some.  Best luck to you.

I'd recommend either Angie Cavallero (in NOVA) or Estee Livioco (in Gaithersburg), depending on who is closest to you.  We used Estee, who did beautiful work for us at a very reasonable price, and is also just a very sweet person.  I recommended her to my DIL, who also had a great experience with her.  Here is a link to an article with contact information for both of them.

2dBride, do you have a different number for Estee than what's in that article? I've called that one several times and I just get an answering machine with a male voice, and no one calls me back. I've only got 2 months until my wedding, so I really need to get in touch with her...
