Tell me about veil shopping

I haven't gotten my veil yet and realized I better do that.  I figured I would just get one at the shop where I bought my dress, but I have questions.  Is any lead time required in buying a veil along the lines of buying a dress, but maybe to a lesser extent?  By this I mean, can I buy off the rack or is shipping involved?

    Where did you get your dress?  I purchased my veil where I got my dress - Terri Lynn Bridal.  I ordered it at my first fitting and it took about 4 weeks to arrive.  I ordered a custom style veil so they didn't have it off the rack.  You may want to check with the store you ordered your dress at.

    I had sticker shock when looking at veils in bridal salons, so I started looking elsewhere. Other Knotties recommended Trousseau out in Vienna. It was totally worth the drive. I got undergarments and ordered a custom veil. The veil was ready in about 3-4 weeks and was exactly what I wanted for under $100.

    Thank you both!   A coworker recommended an online option too: www.veilshop.com because it has veil videos, who knew?
