Who is having a small wedding???? 40-50 guests?

Hi Ladies!

I'm a local old time knottie that was married in my hometown and am now divorced. So this would be my 2nd wedding and this time on the east coast with a much smaller list. I reviewed the back pages for any venue posts and most of them refer to budget venues for 100+ people. I couldn't find any posts that refer to 50 people or under. I do not mind paying $125 pp however, I do mind paying a 10-14k minimum because they are geared towards 100 or more people which doesn't make sense with my goal of just 40 guests that would cost me 5k before alcohol/tax/tip in a huge room which would be a waste of space. kwim?

So, if you're having or know of a reception with 50 or less guests, shout your place. Also, I prefer DC or NoVA.

Thanks!

Mine is 80-100 but I have noticed that the min. charges are only with the hotels. If you rent a venue and then hire a caterer, you shouldnt have to meet any minimums. Washington Plaza in Thomas Circle does not require a min. and Hotel Palomar Rosslyn (their restuarant) has a low one (I think 8k? but it's all inclusive and has a really great view). I've heard great things about Chez Francois for smaller receptions too (you would def have amazing food!).

    Good luck!

Check out the Lorien Hotel & Spa or the Morrisson House in Old Town.

Mine is 45-50 guests. We rented out the Stone Mansion in Alexandria & are having our own caterer come in. If you live in Fairfax county, their parks & recs dept gives you a discount on the site rentals, so that's a plus. And all of their sites come with chairs & tables included.

Now my only problem is figuring out the logistics of the site, I kind of wished I'd gone with one of their larger sites with a more open floor plan.  The plus side is that the site & catering are costing only around $7K, so not too bad... We're trying to stick to a total budget of around $15K.

We had about 45 or so guests.  Our ceremony and reception were at the Governor Calvert House in Annapolis.  We looked at a few places in DC and VA.  I'm sure you'll find just the right place.  Good luck!

    Thank you ladies!

I did get an email from Tabard Inn and Darlington House. Both were reasonable given the size. I was suprised to find that summer time at Darlington was not considered peak. Coming from the west coast, what do I know!

We're having about 50 guests at 2941 restaurant in Falls Church. The restaurant is simply amazing!!! The food is incredible (always in top 50 restaurants in DC area), it's beautiful, and the rooms are just the right size. It's $75 per person, but that pretty much includes everything except alcohol. Check out www.2941.com, they've been great to us and it just fits the number of people.
