Additional Vendor review IMPORTANT for DC Brides

I forgot to mention tuxes
Men's Warehouse on Rt 1 *.   One star because they actually had tuxes but they gave us wrong shirts and no one noticed until too late so bow ties are crooked in all of our pictures.  All tuxes also had to be fixed- pants too short about 2 inches each.  Customer service was not very good.  My Hubby wore his uniform which was impecable so the sloppiness of the shirt mistake really shows in pictures.  It was a few hours before wedding when we discovered this so it was too late to fix.  My dad tried his on the Thursday before and the "tux" people didn't even know enough to point out the shirt was wrong- they just kept saying it was fine and we had to push to get them to alter the pant length.  The GM did give us 25% refund today but the small actual cost of shirt in the scheme of tux rental has a huge cost when you look at the big picture(s)!  Please be careful and much more observant than I was during the prewedding rush...

I am not surprised you had such problems.  My son has just wrapped up prom season; he rented tuxedos on 3 occasions.  First time, everything was fine.  Second time, they gave him the wrong shirt (I didn't know until after he rented the 3rd one).  Third time, they included a long tie instead of a bow tie.

When we pointed out the error, we were told we'd arrived too late to make any adjustments.  Harrumph (picture a very irritated mom)!!  After taking a deep breath, I politely pointed out that we ordered a bow tie and I would think its the store's responsibility to check rentals as they come in to make sure, at a minimum, the correct items are included.  Certainly, they could at least unzip the bags to make sure ... etc.

The clerk then called the to find a bow tie.  Luckily, the store at the Fashion Center at Pentagon City had it, so we had a short drive.  They corrected the error, but not without me having to pull out the "irritated mom" face/attitude.

I cannot imagine going through this for a wedding.  Yikes!  I'm so thankful my FI is not going the tux route.  He, his best man and my best man (my son, who will then be 18) will have suits custom made for the occasion.  Whew!

    Best of luck!!
