Beautiful, unique and affordable hotel location

My finance and I have exhausted ourselves trying to find an affordable unique wedding venue that can accomodate 150 people for a sit down dinner so we are now turning to look at hotels. Because we are looking for something affordable, but with character and beauty, we are willing to go 1 hour outside of DC. Does anyone have any suggestions? Please help

I'm not sure outside DC but I'm guessing the rates are overall lower (although that may not hold true for some of the chains). I found the Washington Plaza hotel to have a great package...it's actually our top pick. Palomar DC also is lower than average but 150 is their max.

I know how you feel I had the exact same problem- I was completely anti- hotel ballrooms but it's looking like a better deal unless we do a cocktail reception instead of a sit down dinner

I'm having mine at the Crowne Plaza Silver Spring. Melvin was wonderful- totally worked with us and we are having the wedding of our dreams and staying in our budget. They also have the nicest rooms that were super affordable which was important to us since all our family has to travel to our wedding.

Call Ellen Budd at the Sheraton Columbia Hotel in Columbia, MD.  They have a beautiful gazebo on the grounds if you want to do an outdoor ceremony or take pics outdoors.  And they have great ballroom space.

The Hyatt Regency Bethesda was a great venue for us! Limor is the event coordinator and she was absolutely amazing! They totally worked with us to stay within our budget and make sure that it was as amazing as possible. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! They have an outdoor area as well as their huge ballroom
