Review: The Silver Swan

I went to a wedding at the Silver Swan on Kent Island (just over the Chesapeake Bay Bridge) this past weekend, and I have to say it was gorgeous! The bride seemed very happy and relaxed the whole time; the staff did a great job of communicating with her throughout the evening. The venue was absolutely stunning, they got married right ON the water... a lof of people haven't heard of the Silver Swan but the bride told me that it was cheaper than most of the other water front venues.

They did a buffet and the food was amazing. Apparently they had had some trouble, as they ended up having to do tastings with 3 diff chefs; but I think the Silver Swan should keep the guy they have now, cuz the food was just incredible. There's always some worry with a buffet that the food will get cold; but all the food was just as good a little cooler as it would've been piping hot - and that's not easy to do. They had chicken, prime rib, pasta salad, an array of grilled veggies, salad, breads... all of it was just incredibly tasty. The sauce with the prime rib was amazing.

Apparently they normally recommend having two buffet tables for larger groups, and I think that they should've done that, since it took a prtty long time for everyone to get their meals; but no one seemed to mind.

Overall, from an outsider's point of view; it was a stunning location, they seemed to make everything very easy for the bride and her mother, the food was delicious, and everyone had a great time!
