Invitations? - comma before NE/NW/SE/SW?

Hello all,

An old knottie here asking a question for a friend getting married in DC... On the invitations, do you put a comma between the address and the quadrant? I can't remember what I did for my wedding...

I do not believe a comma is needed, but you do have to spell out Northwest, Northeast etc.
