Creative affordable ideas for guest transportation form church to hotel

I'm looking for transportation recommendations - for the guests from the church to the hotel, not for the bridal party - it's only 1.8 miles away, but its in January so peeps couldn't walk. I basically have like no money to spend on this - does anyone have any creative ideas that are somewhat classy still to help out with the guests transportation? Would having a bunch of cabs on hand for them but not paying for them be totally tacky? What about getting porters from my dad's work (he manages a few car dealerships) waiting in cars to drive some families - or would that be bad because we wouldn't have enough for anyone? Or what if I put some sort of cute sign or balloons or something at the nearest metro?-tacky or okay? Anything else anyone can think of that is either free or super cheap that will somehow facilitate the guests travel?

How are your guests getting to the church?  Are they driving?  If so I say let them drive from the church to the hotel, otherwise if there cars are at the church you will have to facilitate transportation back to their cars afterwards.  I say, let them drive if its not in the budget to pay - good luck

Talk to the hotel and see if they have a dedicated shuttle that you can use.  Our hotels both have one that we can use for about $50 for 2 hours.  Or inform the front desk that guests may be asking for taxis.  The porter idea is cute too, and you could have a sign-up sheet at the front desk.  That way guests can choose to take advantage.  Since it's a church, and you're most likely not supplying them with booze (beyond maybe sacramental wine), I don't think you really you need to make sure to provide a ride for every single guest.  Just provide the option in case they don't have cars.  Balloons at the metro is a no, though, because you'd be posting something on public property and maybe could get in trouble.

I would also say talk to the hotel. Sometimes if you book a block of rooms and the guests use them they will put in a shuttle. I would say no on the taxis and metro ideas. But if you can't afford it then don't worry about it. It's a nice gesture, but it's not your responsibility to cover transportation.
