reception sites?

Does anyone know of any fairly reasonable reception sites that would be good for a fall or winter wedding?  My fiancee and I are on a somewhat conservative budget, especially for this area.  We would wait to do something until next year but he is getting reassigned (army) soon.  Both of our families live relatively close and we don't know where he will be going but redeployment has been happening a lot in his office.  Thanks!

I'm not sure what your budget is but Maggiano's on Wisconsin Ave has good pricing for DC - I think their package starts at 68.95 per person including a 5 course meal, 4 hours open bar, and your cake - not to mention the food is amazing - this is where we're having our reception at.  If your looking for lower pricing you could consider looking at some sites in Frederick county, MD or area's a little bit out of the city.  Good luck!!

The army forts in the area have some of the best deals, actually.

We are going with Martin's Crosswinds in Greenbelt. The package we got is about 65 per person for a 4 or 5 hour reception (can't remember which we settled on), cake, dj, open bar, and meal. The place is beautiful and they have excellent reviews.

go to the surrounding county's park websites. you can rent out historical buildings for very reasonable prices.

Here's the link for prince georges county, but i'm pretty sure fairfax county and montgomery county have similar sites available.

The Regency at Dominion Valley in Haymarket, Virginia isn't too bad.  It can rack up with a bigger guest list, but theyr'e very accomodating, and a steak dinner is around $35-$40/person.  They're also very friendly and helpful, and it's gorgeous.

If your FI is an Army officer, check out the Officers Clubs at Quantico and Fort Belvoir.  They are beautiful and have good deals.  I'm not sure what the Enlisted Clubs are like if your FI is enlisted, but I'm sure you could find some good info on them :)

Thanks!  I think we are going to look at Old Town Hall in Fairfax  this weekend.  Unfortunately the bases around here do not have enlisted clubs per se (or NCO clubs) but rather community centers and it's way too big for the number of guests we have.
