long distance from church to reception

It just hit me that the majority of people will have to travel an hour to the church and an hour back to the hotel  (where people will be staying and where the reception is (outside the city).

i still am a little less than a year away and have not sent the save the date or invitations out... should i switch churches? is there any other way?

help!

I would find a closer church, or consider close non-church options.  That's a LONG drive.  If the hotel does receptions often, they should have some good leads for you.

Let me tell you, when I went to a Pittsburgh wedding last March, it was draining to say the least to have to drive for 1 hour over mountainous terrain no less to get to the reception site.

By the time you get there you are just zapped out.
Move it closer for your guests' sake.

I agree with the PPs.  An hour drive will be a bit much especially for those that do not know the area.  Also, in the DC area, an hour drive can easily turn into 2 hours.
