Affordable DC Wedding Venue

I am looking for a unique venue in DC that is affordable.  Most of the venues we have looked at are very expensive but we really want to have a city wedding.  Any suggestions?

DC prices are so wacky - what's your budget.  I'm getting married at the Josephine Butler Parks Center.  It's DC reasonable and also much cheaper on weekdays.

I love Long View Gallery but I don't think it's going to be big enough for our wedding, we are inviting around 250.  That was another problem I found with venues that I like is that they cannot accomodate our invite list.  But a space like LongView is exactly what we are looking for, I went to an event there and it was really cool.  We are considering that for our engagement party now.

Haven't set a clear cut budget yet, we want to explore all our options.  But we looked at the Ronald Reagan Int Trade Center and that seemed reasonable for DC, $4,000 to rent the space and about $170 a head.

Try the Carnegie Institute builiding.

Try the "Washington International School". aka "the tregaron mansion".
Google "the tregaron Estate" and you'll find plenty of info. The gardens are beautiful and there's plenty of room inside in case the weather doesn't cooperate.

What is your price range? I did a ton of research on venues and ended up going with Carnegie Institute.

Are you looking for ceremony and reception at one site?  The Washington Club on Dupont Circle is beautiful - the capacity is definitely over 200, but I don't remember the exact cutoff.

Just outside of DC, at Glen Echo Park, their Spanish Ballroom is beautiful, recently restored,  and ample enough for your projected number of guests. The price is extremely affordable.

WIS/Tregaron are no longer available, or at least not after this April, I believe.  So sad, looked pretty.
