Is it me, or is this just rude?

I was browing some forums and someone asked a question like "where can I get some good low priced vases" or something and the first reply was
www.google.com
It might just be me, but I thought that was unnessicarily rude. When you post questions like that you're asking people for sites they've used before and can tell you about, etc. Sure anyone could go to google and look at the billion websites that pop up, but how are you to know how good they are. Isn't that what forums are for anyways?
Oh, some people LOL

Honestly, a lot of the posters see the same questions over and over again and get a little bit impatient.  But, really, it's not difficult to google "cheap vases", find some websites and then ask about a particular vendor or store.  A lot of times posters will want you to do the work for them.  They put no time or research into looking for things themselves.  That's annoying.

I'm a fierce proponent of googling first, ask later.  I don't think it's rude.  I think it's practical.

Considering the nature of TK and the boards, I see why you thought that was rude. I have befriended Google to the point where it is probably abnormal, but I still ask for suggestions periodically to see if someone has a great resource that they don't mind sharing.

I love to google myself, sometimes you find things that no one else really knows about (a new local artists website etc) but it just seemed overly rude - especially the way she put it. Each to their own I guess
