I've been reading these threads for about 4 months now and this is my first post. I am really a planner so when my fiance and I got engaged about a month ago I got going. We are paying for almost everything myself and have about $4000 as our budget. I wanted something inexpensive but not cheap looking. I am happy to say I've been pretty successful so far!
Our ceremony will be at Sunnybrook Park in Buckhead, which is near our apartment and gorgeous with a brook/creek, bridges, winding path and trees. We booked the Garden Hills Rec Center across the street. It is very rustic inside with exposed beams and comes with tables and chairs. It also cost less then $400for a rental from 4 pm to 11pm. We are doing bbq for food, which is delivered and comes in at about $10 a head. My theme? Picnic chic!
Today I bought my gown, which I am so excited about! I wanted something that made me feel gorgeous and made me feel like a forest nymph. I found exactly that at Sweet Elegance in Decatur. Turns out my dress happens to be a bridesmaid dress. I liked it better then the wedding dresses and was exactly what I wanted-chiffon, no train, comfortable but gives m ea waist, hips and my butt looks fantastic! Best part? The bridesmaid dress price!
So I really feel now like I can relax and enjoy the rest of the planning. And looks like we'll come in at budget, too. Can't beat that! Only 14 months to go before I get to marry my best friend and the man of my dreams!
