Publix Wedding Cake

I live in the Va-Hi area and wanted to see if anyone has used Publix for their wedding cake.  I have heard the cakes are tasty but am concerned about the decoration.  Many thanks.

Three years ago, one of my friends had a disaster with the cake she'd bought from Walmart (they picked it up the day before and didn't have a fridge big enough for it -- the cake layers slid off in transit).  Publix actually came to the rescue in the emergency.  Their cake was delicious, and I thought it looked good as well. HTH!

Our cake was from Publix. It was delicious and everyone complimented on it. We didn't have any problems with ordering or delivery.PIB

A friend of mine had a publix cake last year and although it was tasty, the decorations were not great. I think it would probably ok if it had a simple design.

Have you looked into Eileen Carter, The Cake Lady? Her prices, cakes and decorating skills are amazing.  When a friend of mine looked at Publix, their cake per slice was the same as what she charged..   try contacting her at eileenmcarter@yahoo.com and you can see her work here: http://eileenmcarter.blogspot.com/

My sister had a Publix cake 3 years ago and it was great! Pretty and yummy. I considered them but decided to have cupcakes instead.

My sis-n-law used them and I'm not going to lie....we took a box of it to go home with.  It was that good!

Cakes from Publix (and other "grocery store cakes") come predone at another location and are transported to your venue and assembled by a non professional. If there is any damage to the cake, they are not able to repair it, but will try to put that part in the back.A professional cake baker will go another step and add additional icing around the edges during the set up and it will have a more finished look. Also, any damage that is done to the cake during transport or set up can be fixed.
