Small Wedding Venue Recommendations

My friend is getting married next year. She will be moving to Atlanta and wants to have a small wedding of about 10-15 people. She would like to keep the cost under 5k. Do you have any recommendations?Thank you!

This shouldn't be too tall of an order....but what is she looking for?  To have the wedding and reception in the same place?  She could pick a nice restaurant - I'm thinking Anthony's Fine Dining, or Feast in Decatur.  Feast has a really pretty patio and they will let you reserve it for not too much $.  I"ve seen photos of weddings there and they were really pretty.   Or she could do the wedding in a park and have the reception at a nice restaurant.  There's also a ton of bed and breakfasts around - Stanley House Inn in Marietta does weddings and some other places.  I really liked the Glen Ella in N. Ga but I don't remember if you have to rent the entire place out.  Try looking here for sites and also weddingwire.com .

There are a lot of restaurants in Atlanta that could accomodate a wedding such as that. I would NOT do a church and church basement. First, if she's not a member they probably wouldn't marry her and her fi anyway.  Second, most churches here in the South do not allow alcohol, so they probably wouldn't even allow a champagne toast. My favorite restaurants are the Glenwood (they have a seperate room, GREAT local food, and they could probably design a menu for your friend) Violette's (the food at lunch, I think is better than dinner, but they have a lovely patio and a couple of sepearte rooms).  And there are other trendy places that might be suitable too.

Chateau Elan ceremony and reception in one of their art galleries.  I think that it's called Afternoon in Bordeaux and it is 110 per person for the ceremony, cocktail reception and lunch reception with choice of salmon, filet mignon, chicken (and it's a plated, sit down lunch).  Well w/in her budget and everyone can stay at Chateau Elan.  Very convenient. Another option.  Georgia Tech Alumni House.  Outdoor ceremony area rents for $500 or so and indoor (entire second floor, including foyer, two meeting rooms and banquet room, is $1500 or so).  Then she pays for food and decoration and that's it!

I had a small wedding last year at Anthony's fine dining. They have a beautiful area upstairs with floor to ceiling windows with a great view of the property that would be perfect. We had 24 guests and were under her budget.  Good luck to your friend!

There are several locations in Dahlonega Ga that have all inclusive weddings of all sizes that she could use for under 5k.  A few are R-Ranch, Forrest Hills, and Chota Falls.  There are several wineries as well.

I am getting married next year, and my wedding will also be small, at about 30 people, including the bride, groom, wedding party, officiant, photographer, and usher. I am using a bed and breakfast in Macon, GA called the 1842 Inn (www.1842inn.com). The cost for the rental is $1500, and then additional costs come in for chair/table/tent rental. The $1500 automatically includes 1 free night at the inn as well, so it'd be a great place to have the honeymoon night, or even to host a special out-of-town guest!
