in need of some venue input please ladies :)

hey all,
i am getting married next march and am trying to find a nice venue. i am having a DIY rustic/vintage wedding with the help of my family so i don't really need anything "all-inclusive" just a place that is nice to rent for the day. anyone have any suggestions? i only have about $800 to spend on a venue (sorry, i'm in college if that explains anything) and am having a hard time finding somewhere that is cheap but still very nice. i would love to have something outdoors like by a lake or on a farm or something if that helps. thanks all  and happy planning :)

Try Hundred Acre Farm in Madison if you are close?  I don't know how much they charge but it's a lovely place for a wedding.

You could try Douglasville Cultural Arts Center
http://www.artsdouglas.org/rentals/rentals.htm or Clayton County Water Authority http://www.ccwa1.com/facilities/community_use_rates%202010.aspx#shamrock

You can also try Roswell River Landing

Where are you looking to have it? North Georgia, South Georgia, etc?

I wonder if Prince William and Kate are registered at Target?

Well, if you can spend a little more than $800 there is the Roswell River Landing in Roswell GA if you're anywhere near that. They charge $900 plus a $500 refundable security deposit. I know that's a combined total of 1400 up front but some people can afford the extra $500 if they know they're going to get it back.

Look at any of the State Parks as well.  Some of the State Parks have really nice group shelters.  Red Top has one that has a large deck in a hidden cove, stone fireplace, etc.

A friend of mine just got married at The Reid Barn in Cumming. It's very rustic and charming and AFFORDABLE. I saw her pictures and they were gorgeous.

You might also like The Rock Barn in Canton. I went to a private party there awhile back and it is definitely charming, intimate, and can be as rustic or elegant as you want.

Thank you all! I have really been considering the Roswell River Landing place for some time if I can save up enough to book it. I will look into the others as well :) And btw, I am in North Georgia so if that helps. Thanks again! All the ideas I can get will help a ton!
