Outdoor Reception/Ceremony Venue - Macon, GA

I am just beginning the wedding planning process and I am looking for an outdoor venue that can accomodate about 200 people. I would like both the ceremony and reception outside with the option of moving inside should there be inclement weather. I am from California but live in Macon so I am at a loss as far as where to start looking.

I am also willing to look at places in the Atlanta area (Senoia/Newnan/Peachtree City).

I don't know anything in Macon, but I am from Newnan, so here are some places you can check out.

    Poplar Grove Conference Center, Newnan
    Dunaway Gardens, Newnan
Oak Grove Plantation and Gardens, Newnan
    Something Special, Newnan www.sspecial.net
    The Major Long House, Newnan
Connongate Golf Clubs: Flat Creek, Peachtree city and Whitewater, Fayetteville
    Glendalough Manor, Tyrone/Peachtree City
    Dolce hotel, Peachtree City
    The Veranda B&B, Senoia

that's all I can think of right now :)

Healy Point Golf Course in Macon would be my first choice for an outdoor ceremony and reception. They have the greens, of course, but also plenty of indoor space.

There is also another course called Brickyard at Riverside. You could Google them both to get a better idea of what they have to offer.

I'm getting married in Macon, but I don't live there either so I feel your pain. I toured venues until I was blue in the face.

I am never on here (usually just am lurking on the Nest now), but saw your post. I just got married 2 weeks ago at a beautiful and unique venue. It is in Fort Valley though, so about a 30 to 40 minute drive depending on where in Macon you are coming from. It is called the Cotton Barn at Pineola Farms. Their website is www.cottonbarn.com and they have tons of information on their website. It is a little pricey, but worth every penny spent. The directors out there are top notch and you will fall in love with it from the moment you step on the ground out there.

As for some other places, there is also Massee Lane Gardens in Fort Valley (http://www.camellias-acs.com/) and Houston Lake Country Club in Warner Robins, GA.

    Good Luck!!!
