Who rents the rental property?

My reception venue coordinator says that she will be renting the tables, chairs, etc. for our wedding and reception in HER name and that we will need to pay HER directly to cover all the costs upfront. Is this a standard practice? she gave me an invoice and I totally trust her, but I was just wondering why this is done?

If the venue doesn't provide table and chairs then it is up to the couple to provide them. The caterer sometimes provides them but I have never heard of a coordinator renting items. Sometimes rental comapnies give other vendors 10% off.
