i had my first fitting today! it was awesome to get to try on my dres again.
i went to dora baker in lawrenceville.
i basically put everything on and she told me what she was going to do and when. since we're starting early, she's doing a little at a time- which i like, because it won't be a completely different dress when i put it on next, it'll evolve for me.
this time she told me that i was wearing it too low.. i was going to have to pull it up all night. she's adding some boning to the waist, so that it's held up by the smallest part of me. next time she'll pin for the hem and bustle.
ahe already gave me a list of what i need done and how much it'll cost.
add boning at waist: 65
make bust darts(my dress sticks up when it should lay flat on my chest.. i'll show a pic): 30
bustle: 50(2 layers of fabric- satin and chiffon)
hem:85(chiffon, satin, 3 layers of tulle, and another layer of fabric. it would be less if there wasn't so much to do.)
