    I was escorted down the aisle and it was by my father.  Wasn't an easy decision as my father and I haven't had the best or closest relationship.  I struggled with the whole "given away" aspect.  Once I cast that aside and realized that no one can "give" me away, I settled on an escort down the aisle from my father.  Worked for me.

    I will be escorted by my mom and dad. No giving away.  One of my friends did something cool at her wedding.  The minister asked something like, "who supports BRIDE and GROOM in this wedding" and both sets of parents were standing there and said "we do".  Maybe he asked each set of parents one at a time, I don't remember.  But it was a nice moment and no "giving away" and it was for both the bride and groom.
