Question for Brides NOT wearing white

My dress color is oyster (similar to a light champagne color).... did you tell your groom what color your dress will be for tux purposes?

i know some people do. i had a white dress, so i didn't worry about it, but if i had a colored dress it would have been a talking point.
for a dress of that color, i'd probably have him get an ivory shirt and champagne vest/tie.
i saw someone once with an oyster dress. i can find her married bio, maybe her pics will give you ideas?

My dress is off white and I went with my groom when he choose his tuxedo and I made sure he got the ivory shirt as opposed to the white shirt.  Same with all the groomsmen, ring bearers, etc.  HTH!

I don't think telling the groom what color your dress is will ruin the suprise. Go ahead and tell him just to not get a bright white shirt. Or go with him to get it as PPs have said.

My dress was champagne.  My H's suit is black, and he wore a black shirt and a black/red tie to match the bridesmaid's dresses and our wedding colors.  The groomsmen wore black suits with a dark grey dress shirt and black ties.
