Need budget photog around Lake Hartwell

My photographer just backed out... I've still got over 5 months, so I'm telling myself not to freak, but it IS a hassle! I'm doing the planning remotely and this is sure to throw a wrench in the budget as I had such a great deal any suggestions?

Check around Athens, GA or Anderson, SC. I found a photographer in Elberton (like 20 mins from Hartwell), but went with my MOH's dad instead. I think they were called Shooters?

Where are you getting married, btw? I'm getting married in Elberton.

My parents have a house on the lake, so it's going to be in the back yard looking out over the lake

Ooooh that will be pretty! That's so awesome. Glad to know someone else who is getting married out that way haha 

If you need any other info about any vendors that way, let me know! I can recommend a good florist and DJ.

Thank you! I love that you're close by My parents don't live at the lake full time, and with me out of state, finding vendors is hit and miss... Who is the florist you'd recommend?

Her name is Libby, she runs Libby's Flowers in Elberton. She is very nice and the prices seemed pretty good, especially compared to ATL prices. She would probably charge you more for a travel/gas cost if she delivered the flowers to you, depending on how far it would be. It's not THAT far, but further than the church we're getting married at right down the street, KWIM?

Ive been looking at photographers and have it narrowed down to a few really great ones. They are all pretty much Atlanta based, but if you are interested I will PM you their site info.

Yeah, I get that... I have only found the 1-800-Flowers type places through the yellow pages I really just need to find the time to meet my parents up there or something so we can actually get out looking "street level." I will definitely check into her, and I'm sure we could even work out picking it all up in the back of my mom's 4Runner to save on the cost!

re photographer- as i found out, mostly any photographer from atlanta will travel 2 hrs to the wedding. some of them will charge a travel fee. so just contact the ones you like and ask about travel fee. don't panic! you have time

Try Emily Truax with Red Pony Photography.  She just did our engagement shot last Saturday and they turned out really well (and trust me, if she can make the FI and I look good in pics she is good!)

She is out of Athens which isn't too far from Hartwell.

I also do photography. I do it on the side but have been doing ot for 5 years and have a very loyal client build up. Please let me know if you still need someone my prices are VERY reasonable as I am still a work in progress. I live in Toccoa and I am planning a wedding for April 2013.
