5,000 budget in need of a affordable venue. HELP!!!

I got engaged almost 2 years ago but had to hold off on the wedding after 2 lung surgeries. With all the medical bills and regular bills our budget is small. We want to keep the guest list around 5075. We would love a outdoor garden or lake ceremony and a indoor reception. We would love a dance floor and a place we can bring in our own vendors. Or a place that includes it all within our budget. Any ideas?

  • I don't know where in ATL you are - you could look into the Roswell River Landing.

THe Stanley House in Marietta has some packages within that price range.  They have a small gazebo outside,.  It is a bed and breakfast.

  • Hi -

    Check out this website.

It is in Augusta, GA so about 2 hours for you.  This was one of my options for a 100 person wedding.  They cater and fit in your budget.  The offer an outside garden wedding.

  • If you don't mind a little DIY, you could do what I'm doing, get married outdoors at Sunnybrook Park in BUckhead and have reception across the street at teh Garden Hills Rec Center.  Had tables and chairs, kitchen and no real rules.  Very diy but a cool space and inexpensive-$350 from 5-11 on weekends.  We are having a wedding the same size and budget as you and it's worked out fabulously!

  • There is a ranch style place for $650 for the whole weekend in Villa Rica called Sunset Ranch. They allow outside everything and have a dance floor. I work for Gabe's Downtown Catering and we will be able to help you stay under budget for that as well.
  • There are many places, depending of how far your willing to travel. If you don't mind the travel try little gardens in Gwinnett County, they do everything and at a reasonable price.

  • It really depends how far you are willing to travel. Try community centers and things like that. Were having our reception in Plains GA at the community center..and the venue has a cute little courtyard for outside weddings and a beautiful inside space with brick walls and hardwood floors. They provide tables and chairs and everything else you have to bring in. We're doing a church wedding because the courtyard is too small for our guest list of over 200 but the inside space is great! We rented it for 250 dollars! Plus they threw in a free night in the inn. Which the room normally goes for 110 on a Saturday night. So if you're on a budget I would definately suggest looking into places like that..usually places rented by the city or county are cheaper! Our total wedding budget is 5K. Hope that helps! I don't have a link to our venue but if you google it the website will pop up. Oh and neat fact: Plains is where President Jimmy Carter is from and still lives. So its still got that old small town feel if you're into that! Good luck!
