I felt just like you!!! I have 17 days til my wedding and you have more pressure as the time gets near!  But by that time you know what you are going to be paying for everything!  Hang in there!  Do you have a friend or relative that can help you out or that you can bounce ideas off of?  Don't try to do everything yourself!  I'm not a planner and I'm not organized and I wanted everything to just be simple.

It can be overwhelming. Don't try to look at everything all at once. Just take a deep breath and do a few things at a time. Shop around, look at places like Craigslist for services, lurk on TK boards for inspiration.

A planner is a great way to save your sanity! She will help cut cost with her vendor contacts and negotiation skills and will pay for herself with the money she helps you save. She will also be a mediator if your family, bridal party, vendors, etc. start to get out of control. The Knot is also a great way to get ideas and to vent when things are stressing you out. Just remember that you are marrying the love of your life and that's really all that matters. :)

I was/am in your shoes too!  I decided to do a "week of" planner to help me to actually enjoy the day.  My friends who love planning things have been really good at helping me to focus on one or two things at a time, then moving on to the next.  That really helped!  I was so overwhelmed in the beginning that I couldn't make any decisions.

Also, don't be afraid to negotiate yourself!  I've managed to get price reductions with some of my vendors.  This site and a couple of other local bridal sites have also been a lifesaver.

Good luck, and if you ever have questions or need to vent along the way, we'll be here!

What is your wedding date and budget for a planner? What all are you looking for in a planner? Week of or day of services are popular and the service we offer most of the time, but I am also available for whatever else you are interested in. Let me know if I can help!
