DJ Referrals

I'm getting married on Oct. 9 of this year in Dahlonega on a Sunday.  I had my budget for DJ at about $500.  As I've contacted several in the past couple of days it seems most of the packages start around $1000.  Anyone know of a good lower cost Dj or do I need to look at cutting something else so I can spend more on that?  Any suggestions would be helpful.  Thanks.

You should definitely be able to find a good dj for $700-800.  We're using Art Collantes with Studio One Entertainment.  Check them out, studiooneentertainment.com

We are using Complete Music.  If you go to one of the upcoming bridal shows, there are lots of vendors that give bridal show discounts making it really affordable!

I have been to a few weddings that used Complete music and they were fantastic.  I used Christopher Brock for my wedding, www.chrisbrock.org

This thread has helped me a lot. We are thinking about booking Uptown Entertainment and they a $800 for a Sunday wedding. I was wondering if that's a reasonable price; but, from reading your posts--it seems as if he charging a comparable price to other DJs in the area.

I heard this DJ spin at a company party and was thoroughly impressed by his ability to keep the dance floor moving!

Can anyone else share what they paid for their wedding DJ?

To The Rescue Entertainment - $500 for 4 hours of music.  They are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization with 100% of their proceeds going to their licensed animal rescue.

They do a lot of midtown special events as well.
