Can someone explain what a card box is?

    It's a box you place at the reception for guests to put any cards into that they wish to give to you and your FI.  It usually locks in some way so that theft is not an issue (which is sad, since you're supposed to be surrounded by those who love you).  It's also there so that no cards get lost - they are put into one place and easy to gather after the reception.

    I understand having one for cards that have money in them, but some cards would be paired with a gift, right?  If the card is in a box, how would I be able to know who gave what gift?

    The guests will usually keep those types of cards with the gift itself.  It's mostly for cards with gift cards/money in them.
