Advice on a domestic destination wedding?

My brother just got engaged today!  So exciting!

They would like to have a domestic, beach wedding sometime next year, preferrably late summer.

Just curious if anyone else in the Atlanta area is planning a destination wedding, and if so, where you decided to have it and why you chose that location?  They aren't sure where to start and the clock is already ticking!

We are in Athens and we were planning a destination wedding in Las Vegas.  We chose that location because #1 it was fun, #2 it wasn't as expensive as having a wedding here and #3 there were SO many options.  We have now changed our destination wedding to an elopement but its still in Las Vegas.

Look at savannah . They have some great wedding packages down that way.

I live in Atlanta and I am having my wedding in Miami. For an intimate group it is really affordable.

I know lots of Atlanta people who do Hilton Head destination weddings. Pretty beach, driveable from here, and can be really affordable.

Tybee Island is just outside of Savannah.  There are some great destination packages on Tybee.
