Pennsylvania-Philadelphia

Photographer!

Can anyone recommend a good photographer with a vintage feel that is not ridiculously expensive out of the Philadelphia area? I have found so many but, some are a bit out of my price range. Looking for someone that has a package for not over $4,000. Thanks!

For a vintage look and in your price range I think Sharyl Frenkel would work perfectly. Bride to Be used her and the pictures were beautiful. I think the "vintage" look is nothing more than a photoshop effect. I would look at a photographers style as opposed to their processing. I'm sure any photographer would be able to accomodate the look you are going for. I'd also recommend the two photographers I narrowed it down to. Marc Anthony Photography http://www.marcanthonyphoto.com and Sandor Welsh http://www.sandorwelsh.com/

I second Sharyn Frenkel.  Her work is incredible.  I think Mike Landis is along the same price range as Tony Hoffer if I'm not mistaken, so he might be out... but worth looking into.  He does good work.

You can also look at my photographer.  He's definitely in your price range.  His name is Paul Lutes.  Based out of NJ, but he'll travel for you. www.prlphoto.com

I am not sure what you consider vintage feel or how much you want to stick to that since you listed Hoffer...But as always I will recommend my photographer, Craig Single (www.singleexposure.com) since he is comfortably in your range and I think he is awesome.

    I'd third the Sharyn rec.

Also take a look into Jenna Walcott, she is in your price range.

Jenna Walcott! I'm using her and she's the sweetest thing ever.  I'm getting quite a bit for $3500.  I highly recommend her :)

Wow! Thank you ladies. I'm going to check all of them out, i'll let you know what I think! In the mean time, has anyone ever used Michael Ash as a photographer? If so, what did you think of him?

I didn't use Michael but I love his work too - I reached out to him but he was a little over my budget. I agree with the rest - Sharyn Frenkel takes beautifull photos and seems to have the style you're looking for. Some others that my friends have used and loved:

Sweewater Portraits (sweetest husband & wife team)

    Heather Fowler

I booked Lorraine Daley. It's another husband and wife team. More photojournalistic/artistic but definitely capture a vintage vibe (which is what I'm looking for too). Also, her package covers a lot and well under 4k.

I also second what someone above me mentioned - if you like the vintage "coloring" this can be done during editing. I'm sure whoever you work with can tweak the photos to give it that look.

LOVE all of those photographers that you posted! ahhhhh so many good ones to choose from....

I agree on Sharyn for the "vintage" post-processing looking.  Sarah Schulte also tends to keep her style a bit more muted, and Kamila Harris is also known for having that style.  I agree that it's all about the post-processing :)

Kamila will be above your range, but what you are looking for, I love her. I agree Sarah's also something you may really like.

I am using Annie Hosfeld. She is a very vintage kind of girl and very easy to work with. I am having a vingate inspired wedding and can't wait to have her shoot it. She uses real live film in addition to digital to get a great Vintage look. She is right in your price range.

I think most photographers can mimic the vintage look with a few photoshop clicks. I would find somebody you like in your price range and tell them you are looking for the look of old cameras.

Myself and dibsontop are using Photography by Leah, she does amazing work and would be able to get the look you're looking for.  Myself and my FI are paying $2000 for 2 photographers for 8 hrs of coverage, full editing of photos and a cd with rights to the photos.  We want to make albums ourselves, but I know she has packages with engagement sessions, photo albums, etc.
