Venues!!

Where are you getting married? or what venues are you in love with or closely eyeing? What venue would you recommend we look at?

FI and I are taking a trip down south to check out venues and we'd love to get input from locals or people who've already scoped out a venue. -- because so far, all we've had to go on are websites.

Don't worry about budget or location, we'll weed them out as necessary, but we'd love to get some ideas that may differ from the ones we already have =)

Neither of us are from there and nothing's set in stone, so anywhere in GA is welcome!!

Thanks, ladies!

Well.....what are you specifically looking for?

    Indoor? Outdoor?
    Historic?
    Garden?
    Vineyard?
    Rustic?
    All-inclusive?

If you can tell us a little more of what you're looking for or little interests/likes, we could help :)

    Me - http://www.bsvw.com
Blackstock Vineyards and Winery - Dahlonega, Georgia
It's where our wedding is in August.

    Oh sure!

Indoor is our only requirement. Since we'll be getting married next summer.
Other than that, go nuts with the suggestions! We'd love to get a broad spectrum of ideas!

    Thanks!

How many people do you plan on having?  That will also narrow down any choices :)

we are seriously considering Rose Hall in dallas, GA. They have partial and all inclusive packages that are very affordable, especially compared to the other venues we have looked at, they were atleast 3,000 cheaper. We have qouted a 125 guest wedding for approx 6.000. the only thing else you have to pay for is attire, bridal party flowers, music, officient, invitations, and photography. They do have a package that has bridal party flowers, DJ, and photgraphy for 3,000 more. But I feel we can find those things for cheaper. They have indoor and outdoor options for the ceremony and reception. I am not sure of the exact website but just google ROse hall but make sure you put Dallas, GA

We also looked at Pristine Chapel Lakeside, Hollycrest,& Primrose Cottage. Hollycrest is considerable pricing as Rose hall, the others a little more.
Hope this helps!! I had a horrible time narrowing down venues and I am local, so I cant imagine doing it long distance!
    Good Luck

Thanks for all the info soontobereed!! We were actually looking at Rose Hall, too! That's really awesome. I heard that it was super pretty.

Believe me, doing this from Boston is SUCH a pain...you can never tell whether the venue is really nice or if they just had a good photographer!

We'd never heard of Rose Hall, so we're going to put it on the list!

    Thanks again!

I think the Biltmore is beautiful (it is a historic hotel), and you can have your ceremony in one ballroom and have your reception in the other. It is a bit pricey, but has the WOW factor. It's in downtown Atlanta.

    Hi,
we actually toured Rose Hall today and will be reserving it this weekend. It is just as amazing as the pics on website show, and they seem really flexible, which is important to me. I like the idea of the package but also want control (Gemini lol)and a decent price!.
The only thing I will say is since you said inside since it will be summer is that they dont really have an area inside that can accomadate ceremony or full reception. The ceremony moves to reception area if weather is not favorable and you can rent a tent to cover this area (if its rain or cold, and they will provide fans or heaters with your tent rental), but reception is partially inside and outside. It sounds weird but flows really well and the doors open widely and it is one big area connected. They have center pieces choices and the ceremoney and reception site have alot of greenery, white lights, shepard hooks and other rhings that make any other decoration needs minimal. If you have any other questions, email me and I will answer them for you, including the quote I recieved.

also once I started looking at the other post about location, I also looked at:
    Little gardens
    Convservatory at Waterstone
    Flint Hill
    Vecoma at Yellow River
    Chota Falls
    Roswell River Landing (DIY)
Ragsdale Inn (nice but small, depending on guest list size)
    Defoor Centre
    Lejardin Blanc
    The cotton warehouse

At one point I had aHUGE list and these all have different looks and price ranges so if you are not set on Rose Hall atleast check them out, I also have price packages from a few of these if you need it

Would love to get a copy of the price points you have also.  We are about to begin our planning, and would love to get started on our budget, and venue and price are the biggest factors.
