Groom's Attire Color

Hello Brides. My wedding dress color is oyster. My fiancee wants to wear a black tux. Does his shirt/vest/tie need to be the same color as my dress or should he stick to white?

I have no idea what color Oyster is?

For my guys...

I put my groom in white.
I put my groomsmen to match my girls.
I put my usher in all black.

The color oyster is similar to a lighter-color champagne.

White will be fine but it's your call.  My dress was ivory and groom's shirt was white.

Everybody's shirt should be white. If the vests are light colors, the back of the vest will likely be white. The groomsmen should match the bridesmaids and the groom should mirror what the bride has going on.

Our tux guy, at King Tux Rentals, explained it like this: "It works really well, symbolically, if the bride and groom can mirror each other at the exclusion of everyone else." That color strategy coordinates with the vows! It just wouldn't do, symbolically, for the groom to go for the color of the bridesmaids, for instance.

It works well in pictures, for the purpose of symmetry, if the rest of the wedding party is dressed alike (colorwise, of course). How about dads? One dad included in pictures - dressed like the groomsmen. Two dads - Either dressed like each other (symmetry) or like the groomsmen. The dads definitely don't wear the same color vest and tie as the groom, unless one were trying to communicate that the groom and the dad would have the same relationship to the bride. See - it just doesn't work!
