New Bride w/ Venue Question!

Re: New Bride w/ Venue Question!

  • I am very familiar with the Piedmont Room/Tent. What do you want to know? The venue is nice, food is great, and the people there are nice to work with. The rental comes with tables and chivari chairs. If you use the tent and your wedding is in the hot months you HAVE to rent their air conditioners. I think the max it can hold is 150-200 people. Hope this helps.
  • I've heard that weddings at the GA aquarium are very nice, but if you want a "dabce club" atmosphere for your recption then it wouldn't be the best place to have it. If you don't mind all the restrictions they put on you (for the safety of the animals) then I am sure it will be a beautiful and memorable wedding.
  • My suggestion is to look according to your budget (Regis = $50,000 vs. Piedmont = $10,000). People will try to persuade you to not look at venues based on their bad experiences, but it doesn't hurt to look. I hope that helps.

    This.

I'd recommend your very first step is to put together a rough budget (there are some tools on here to do that) as well as a ballpark guest list. Then think about what month (ie weather) you are thinking of having the wedding. Those impact your venue selection soooo much!

Thank you for all your input.  Sorry for the delay, I am a Kindergarten Teacher so I cannot be by a comp all the time. :) Gotta love the kiddies.

We have set a budget where a wedding could be held at all these places fortuantely. I just no longer see the nessacary need to spend it on the over the top wedding I had in mind before I got engaged, especially since we will also be buying our first home. But I will agree, opinons are FLYING over all these places, and its a little overwhelming. That's why I cam to ladies who are going through the same process as me. :)

I just wanted to know about the atmosphere of all these places. I know we want a big dance floor for sure! The info on the Piedmont from and the Aquarium were very helpful, It is a summer wedding, so condtioners would def be needed. Thank you very much ladies.

I am viewing 3 of the places on Monday, so I will let you all know which one I decide on! Have a wonderful evening! TGIF!

  • Ok, cool then! I haven't been to any of those, but I did see someone's wedding album  who had it at the St. Regis and it was beautiful - the hotel overall and the ballroom.

Have you considered the Biltmore? It's big and beautiful. It's definitely vintage though, not sure if that's your style.

  • I have! I was actually just there for a NYE party. It was hard to judge given the amount of people in the room, haha but I LOVED the chandeliers. I was thinking about adding it to the list and looking at in the daytime. Thanks for the suggestion! :)

  • One thing I've heard about the Biltmore is that everything is a la carte...making it more expensive in the end. Another I really liked was Ventannas. It has an indoor/outdoor section with amazing views. I ended up going with W Atlanta Midtown since the views were similar, decor already exists on some level, and they offered a package. Good Luck!
  •  The W does have nice ballrooms. And thanks for the advice on the Biltmore!

  • Sounds like you are looking at a lot of boutique hotels.  We got married at The Mansion on Peachtree in Buckhead and absolutely loved it!  It's on the smaller side but worth the look :)
  • I'm getting married in the Piedmont room. You can private message me for any information!  All the places you've mentioned sound great!
  • @DMoro- Yes I am,  but I want to keep my options open! Once I look at a few venues on Monday...hopefully that will narrow it down! I have been to the spa at the Mansion, you picked a GREAT place! Very pretty.

@ Kimberly- I will do that thank you! One of the ladies just emailed me the packet. I'm about to review it now!
