Aldie Mansion

Hey girls! I'm an NJ bride, but trying to look outside NJ for a venue. FI and I came across Aldie Mansion and like the looks of it.

Has anyone seen it? Gotten prices? Thoughts? Feelings?

We liked the look and feel of Aldie when we were looking for locations, although the ceremony site wasn't our favorite of the mansions. I don't know what you're looking for price wise, but I seem to recall a site rental fee that was seperate from the catering fee (they have a caterer, but it's not like they're located there and "in house"). They also seemed to nickle-and-dime a bit for every table, chair, etc, brought in. I think when we lined up the prices, it was a little more per person than the other venues we liked, but not over the top.

If you're looking for mansion-type venues, some favorites around here (other than Aldie, which is popular) are Pen Ryn and Glen Foerd -- both of these are located along the Delaware and have outside ceremony sites available. And, if you're willing to look in Delaware, we got married at Brantwyn, which is part of the Dupont Country Club. Of course that's my favorite, but I am a little biased

I don't know about Aldie but I heard that http://waterfallbanquets.com// is a wonderful place.  Its in Delaware and from what I understand...pretty reasonable.

I was married at Aldie Mansion--price comes about to about $150 per person or so before gratuity, but you could do it cheaper if you pick an off day or off season.  Although most of the mansions around here are expensive and tend to nickel and dime you, but a few (like Pen Ryn and Glen Foerd, I think) have package pricing.

We loved the feel of the place, and one of the advantages is that you have a modern ballroom with the typical amenties (plenty of bathrooms, central air, dance floor, etc,) but the grounds and ambiance of a mansion.  Another plus is that we are from Central Bucks, so it was local to us and our guests didn't have to travel far.  They have two ceremony sites, the Knot Garden and under the oak tree, we chose under the oak tree because I liked the natural feel of it.
