Long Distance Engagment

Any one else out there in a long distance engagment? I love being engaged but sometimes I am just ready to be married to my love. My fiance and I, met almost 10months ago and we have always been in a 6 hour distance relationship. I am missing him right now and just miss being together. We talk every night but its just not the same. I just want to be able to go to the coffee shop with him and sit or to just cuddle with him on the couch. Its the little things you miss the most.  Just wanted to see if anyone else was in the same boat as me! Its hard, but oh so worth it!

Re: Long Distance Engagment

  • I am in one similar, granted it is not a 6 hour distance but it feels like it sometimes. FI and I live about an hour or more apart, with gas prices we only see each other on the weekends if his work schedule permits. It is hard, in the beginning I used to cry every time he would go home, i'm used to it now but I cherish our weekends we get to spend together.

  • Hi Ladies,

I'm also in a long distance engagment. I live in Georgia while my fiance lives in Illinois. We've been seperated for about 2 years now. We met while he lived temporarily in Georgia. After some plans go through, he's planning to permanently move to Georgia after the wedding. I can so understand how it feels to be so far away from the one you love. Although, we only get to see each other in person every couple of months, we still try to maintain our relationship through phone calls, text messages, and video chats. Good luck to ya'll ladies on your upcoming weddings.

  • I've been in a long distance relationship for 6 1/2 years. My FI lives in England and I live in Georgia. We met online in a chatroom, and neither of us was looking for a relationship - it just happened. He used to be able to come see me every couple of months, but now that his business has grown so much I might only get to see him twice a year. Fortunately that will all be over after the wedding as I am moving to England to live with him.
  • Ladies thank you all for sharing. Makes me feel so much better to know I am not the only one in this boat. The girls that have their man right by them everyday do not know how lucky they are but I do think that the distance has made us so much stronger. Praying for yall! I know that we are all ready to be married so that we can be close to our loves! Good luck on the upcoming weddings!
  • And " bsims726"    We share the  same wedding date!
So excited for you! Congrats! I know you can't wait to have your man here! :)

That's so crazy...I'm in a long distance relationship now, where my fiance lives in GA and I live in IL. It'll be a year so far in May and I hate to be away for so long. Planning on moving back to GA in a couple more years after finishing grad school, but I'm very glad to see others have survived so well with this. Congrats to those with less than a year til W-day!
