Have you looked into golf/country clubs with nice clubhouses near you? If you know a member they can probably get you in, or if you aren't they may just charge you extra. If you're lucky (like we were) they won't.

I know it probably doesn't help you, but ours is in Elberton, GA (east of Athens, near the SC border) and was $150 for the venue fee, with a mandatory in house caterer who is $15/person, half price kids, and under 5 free.

Roswell River Landing charges $900 plus a $500 security deposit. In the beginning it's slightly over budget for you... but you will get the $500 back a week or two after the event... so in the end, you'll be paying $900.

How many guests? What area of Atlanta? It would help to narrow down.

Well, I think that the Roswell River Landing is about an hour away from downtown atlanta (not 100% sure though). They cost $900 for the whole day (8 am - 2 am) but you also have to pay a $500 security deposit which is refunded within 2 weeks of the event providing nothing was damaged.

Thanks guys. We will probably have about 150 guest and actually it isn't even in Atlanta. An hour south of Atlanta or in Metro atlanta.

Have you looked into Lakeshore Manor in High Falls? They have all inclusive packages and are very reasonable. There's also Egle's Brooke Country Club in Locust Grove, and the Locust Grove community center is very pretty and it's actually well under your price range; it's also byoc and byob.

That actually DOES help me. My fiance lives in Charleston so that might be closer for his guests.

What is the name of the venue in Elberton you used?

Lakeshore...it really is beautiful. I sent them an email but I am curious. Do you have any idea where their packages start (pricing)?
