Help me understand pricing on flowers

I'm getting married at the Hazlehurst House in McDonough, GA and they're a venue that's very helpful to aid in arranging a florist, cake specialist, etc. so that planning is a little less stressful. I just received a little invoice on the budget and was blown away. Does this pricing seem reasonable?

Bridal Bouquet $225 (10 inch hand-tied with red gerberas, orange callas a fall (orange and yellow rose) and yellow dahlias.)
3 Bridesmaid bouquets: $120 each, $360 total (6 inch hand tied bouquet with shades of red, red roses, red dahlias, red callas)
Throw away bouquet: $75
Mother's corsage: $35 each, $70 total (fall foliage)
Groom: $20
No groomsmen flowers
$65 each for centerpieces
$225 for a large banquet centerpiece

I requested cheap and in-season flowers. Will someone tell me if this is normal or if I should revisit the flower decor pricing?

    From what I recall...

    • Your bouquet price sounds on point (callas can be a bit pricey FYI)
    • Your bridesmaid's bouquets sound high to me (imo).  Each of my girls had a different flower in their bouquet...but they were not $120 each.
    • They large banquet centerpiece is on target

That is really high, IMO. Of course, my flowers were done by someone who was just getting into the floral business, so my bouquet was $35, my BMs' bouquets were $25, and centerpieces were $30-40. Oh, and she only charged $3-4 for groom and groomsmen boutonnieres.

It does depend on the types of flowers you use, but I would highly recommend shopping around and not necessarily using the florist the venue suggests/offers unless it's required by contract.

I am doing calla lillies as well with some other fillers and my bouquet was $150, bridesmaids were pretty much same flowers, but smaller, at $75. Jr. Bridesmaid was $50.  My centerpieces using roses and callas were $55 (they are square vases with leaves, callas, roses and filler).

The quote seemed high to me as well.  Good luck!

Everything but the BMs bouquets and the toss bouquet sound right on.  Your individual flowers are a little prciey--especially the callas.  Those can run up to $5/stem.

I was told it would be $125-150 for my bouquet and about $50 for my bridesmaids.

$120 for BMs sounds like a LOT!

By Tulip is doing my flowers (they're fabulous! They also did my sisters wedding and it looked amazing) and she's doing a wide range of seasonal flowers. There work is beautiful and less than what you're paying. For example, I'm paying under 150 for a bridal boquet with hydrangia, blue bird roses, tulips, hyacinth, dendrobium orchids, freesia, etc. Wrapped in satin ribbon with pearl pin accents. The throwaway bouquet is also included for free and being made from leftover flowers.

Your centerpieces do sound about right, depending on your flowers (although still slightly more than I'm paying). Of course, the price difference could also simply be explained if you're getting married in the winter. Part of the reasons my prices are lower probably also has to do with the fact I'm getting married in June when everything is blooming. Still, I would suggest making inquiries with other vendors. Your lillies etc are also likely not cheap, so you could stick with your current vendor but talk about less expensive flower options.

I'm not an expert, but the bouquets sound very pricey. Although callas are definitely more on the pricey side. I paid about the same for centerpieces and large centerpiece. If you want a second estimate, try Leslie @ Southern Stems. She did my wedding and she is also on the southside. Very reasonable and had lots of great ideas!  www.southernstems.com  Tell her Jasmine sent you! :)
